Raining here as expected...certainly dont expect to see any wet snow...what i do find odd is that the HD models still seem to be different to the latest met office video for tomorrow at 1pm for example...

Harmonie, Arome, Arpege , ukmo hd and just for good measure gfs 12z..

....and the met video (the week ahead)

...no sign of the precipitation being shown at 1pm tomorrow by the HDs (and gfs)..

...while i am not disputing that the mo have a good handle on this with all the relevant info available to them...if the mo has it correct then what is the point of the HD models if what they are seeing is just not correct ?...anyway those that do see snow...enjoy..

ECM 12Z compared to observed,  looks a good match with it maybe a touch South on observed and the low more stretched.

AltonMatthew You've got so much longer of this to as well wow

Although now surface observations and radar are where to look to nowcast it, it seems the UKV holdout could be coming to an end or at least moving to a middle ground with the other hi-res models.

The 15Z now shows a marked increase in precip across the midlands and Wales tomorrow morning. Hopefully the images attach in the right order but they should show the 12Z vs 15Z at 6am, 9am and 12pm tomorrow. All three frames in the 15Z now have at least something falling from the sky! Temps do generally look favourable for snow to fall at around 1-2C but I can't see DP (does the UKV do DP or can I just not find it) and I also wouldn't expect any light snow to settle, but maybe worth finding a lamppost at least. Interesting to see the change come from the UKV so late.
