Hi,

just joined the group.

Met Office and BBC weather forecasts for this evening and overnight indicate possible snow showers running down the NE England coast, but when reviewing the Netweather radar, it seems these showers are running in from a slightly NNW direction to the SSE.  Any snow showers that could hit the NE England region are being taken out by the shield of the Grampian mountains. Comments welcome.  Do the weather models suggest a shift in the flow to a more northerly direction, or are the weather forecasters just being cautious.  One would hope that in the future the forecast could be updated more in real time to reflect developments. Is a trough expected to develop overnight?
