It's 4C here just now, so we could be in for a bit of a treat. Hopefully, BW! 🙏

I was pleasantly surprised with the snowy scene this morning. Keeping my fingers crossed for more events these next few days, though I suspect it will just be cold and clear

4-5cm this morning, it thawed a bit but still a nice 1-2cm covering on the ground. Bitterly cold. Unlikely to get anymore unless the feature on Thursday tracks north or the low on Saturday tracks south since I'm quite far inland.

Cheshire gap might provide later this week.

Meanwhile because it says 'has it'. I thought that I would prove that it has with a poor video I recorded this morning.

That’s all rather impressive MIA, we had wet snow/sleet mix but nothing settled…well done you!

No snow here and wouldn't really expect anything other than maybe some sleet on Saturday. The central belt has done quite poorly in terms of low level snow in recent years. In fact there hasn't really been a sustained snowy spell lasting more than a week here since 2010/11.

feb1991blizzard I think it was slightly better than you forecast as we saw heavy snow falling and some light accumulations in town - there is still snow lying on my roof terrace, I live just opposite aviva studios about 5 min walk from you near Trinity Way.

To get snow lying in your immediate vicinity is difficult but I bet any grassy areas and roofs etc had a v slight covering.

pics and a video from last night, you can see the railway turning white , cars in the distance and grassy areas under the chord seeing snow settling lightly too.

HarvSlugger I can remember numerous occasions where i got absolutely belted with snow and having number of lying snow days in the 20s for a winter, sadly they are a distant memory now, its hard to know where we go from here really.

Joe Bloggs it settled on car roofs here but nowhere else, it was an all snow event once it turned to snow and it would have settled if it would have stayed heavy but every time it looked like it would it just lost intensity,

feb1991blizzard yeah intensity (or lack of) meant it wasn’t v special but it was actually better than I thought it would be. 🤣🤣 my expectations are very low.

Have learnt living in G Man that easterly frontal snow is v rare.

I was very impressed with our snow yesterday and overnight. Roughly 400' here but it makes all the difference. A good 4". Most for a cpl years or so. -1.5 now and  it's all freezing solid. Lots left as in 2nd image.
