80mph gusts possible along the North Coast of Antrim and Derry on Saturday morning.

Should be some monster waves.

Not storm Darragh but some torrential rain has caused a lot of flooding here today

Met Office's forecasts (UKV data) been consistently going for gusts of around 60mph on the back edge of the storm through Saturday here so perhaps becoming more likely now, Quite rare to see forecasts going much above 50-55mph, but often it is overestimated. Interesting to see how bad it would get. Also to note, those strong winds will come from the north west rather than the usual southwesterly direction.

Met Office consistently has my location very close to 80mph gusts for a fair few hours on Saturday and either side of this 65 - 70mph!

As the ground is very saturated I expect alot of trees will fall too!

Just noted in the regional thread, that the North Westerly flow is unusual for the Anglia / Home Counties region - so possibly more impacts than might be expected from the usual South Westerlies?

 HarvSlugger That's interesting H 🤔
Your mean wind speed for Sat is way higher than mine,  and I am about a mile off the north / north west coast of the I.o.A

Some 89 MPH gusts inland in Wales and the South West look to be the highest on the UKV 15z.

Ian Ballinger same here, got a 1950s house right on the west coast, regularly loose tiles, also into the mix, its very rare to get 80mph winds from a northerly quarter, usually its a south westerly that brings the stormy winds.

Mcconnor8 Well there's absolutely no need for the central belt to be under a wind warning then. No inland locations are showing anything other than a breezy and quite wet day.
