Hi.

Has anyone got any experience or know anyone who has a Tempest weather station.

I'm thinking of getting a new weather station next year and was wondering if it was any good?

It's pretty good for most weather data, except rainfall.

If rainfall statistics are important, do not get a station with a haptic rainfall sensor! You'll end up ripping your hair out due to all sorts of inconsistencies and weird quirks. 😅

That's what I heard.

I saw your message in the storm Darragh about the eccowit weather station. Is that any good?

Yeah, I think Ecowitt's stations are good. There are lots of sensors available, various gateways, and they are constantly updating firmwares.

They've just realeased a snow/water depth sensor too, which i think is pretty cool.

Customer service is good as well. They'll send out replacement sensors/parts for free, if anything  goes wrong with them.

The WS90 is a good all-in-one unit. While it has a haptic rain sensor, it is more accurate than the tempest station, due to better algorithms and the ability to calibrate different rain intensities, which improves accuracy.
