DIS1970 I remember that well! Mile walk to school, pavements would half melt then freeze every night for a week, they’d be lethal after a few days. Interestingly the event 2 years ago in Dec was very similar here. But that’s the first time for a very long time..

DIS1970 shows how the weather has changed! 5cms nothing back then, now a decent fall

AmatuerMet1963 unfortunately the BBC, due to costs as I understand it, moved to MeteoGroup for their forecasts. Hence, they aren't going to match the Met office.

Excuse my ignorance, does the forecast make any difference regarding the loss of WFA. It's going to be cold irrespective of whether it snows or not.

Is it a good thing that on the radar it looks like the precipitation is really struggling to get in?🙂

Latest Meteociel chart - pressure down to 989mb. Would be interesting if anyone knows which models this looks closest to.

SukiBrown well it's supposed to be a marked thermal boundary, but South of that line I now fully expect rain all the way.

Fairly standard as precipitation meets the dry, cold air, usually see the leading edge at least appear to struggle.

Comparing current radar to the latest AROME it looks bang on track to me.
