Blimey just noticed at 5.20am the temps at Peterborough were 11C, Just 30 mins later temps dropped to 3C and currently remain at this temp.

I also note backedge snow seems more extensive than I expected based on the radar.

Overcast with slt rain now and then after heavier rain overnight, some snow at times around dawn. A low of 0.9C now up to 1.8C

A lot of the snow has gone but still > half cover in the back garden bit less than 1cm

Rainfall since midnight is currently on 16.0mm

the 24 hour combined total of melting snow and rain=32.2 mm, so heading towards 50mm; the average for January is 42.2mm

An astonishing change in temperature reported by TEITS. Not often that difference is seen in such a short time in the UK. Similar changes showed during yesterday in both time and distance
