Someone has to. 8.0.C making this the mildest February on record. Although not over mild initially, even snow making an appearance early doors, the secind half of the month dominated by a Saharan fetch, think Feb 2019 on steroids. A record breaking 23.4.C somewhere in the UK. Although very stormy at times quite a dry 34mm

A revised prediction based on the state of the models.

Mostly, and sadly, I think February will be mostly very boring: mild and dull. Hard to say about rainfall. At least it isn't looking like a 2020 rerun anymore, which is something.

There is high pressure influence but I can also see the risk of screaming unsettled zonality developing at times if the jet moves south.

Consequently I'm thinking of something midway between 2022 and 2023, but perhaps a little cooler (I'll take off 0.5C) given there seem to be some signs of NW-ly outbreaks towards mid-month in FI and quite a few people have suggested the possibility of NW-ly outbreaks later.

So 6.2 and 75mm. Going a little above the 91-20 EWP as even though it looks dry to start, it wouldn't surprise me if we get an intensely wet spell for a time later, seems to be the way of things nowadays.

Roger J Smith You're expecting a rotter of a winter month then (depending on ones preference of course!) 😬

Don If it had a dry and sunny spell in the second half with temperatures in the mid teens I'd take that to be honest!

Good time to add my own prediction, or at least a preliminary one. Don't think it will be absurdly mild like last year, at least not early on. I also think it will be drier - seems to be a fair amount of mid-latitude blocking in the ensembles.

I'll go with 6.1C and 60mm.

As February is a winter month, I would rather have cold and wintry.  However, if I had to choose between mild and wet next month or mild and dry/sunny I would certainly take the later!  At least if it's dry you can get out and enjoy activities.

I submitted an early prediction last week, will review Friday and may change it, but not sure yet.

I’ll leave it last minute but I see little reason to go for an exceptionally mild February. The first half will probably be on colder side of average.

Though February is a winter month and model runs over the last couple of days showing wintry runs sadly I cannot see anything wintry on that front. I hope I am wrong but for February I am going temperature 7.4 C precipitation. I think it will be a dry month all in all so 50 mm thank you. Not even the Met Office forecasting anything wintry for February yet. 😒😬😣😞
