Living in London, the only December that stands out is December 2009, and the beginning of the freeze around the 17th.

Otherwise, I remember them all as fairly non-descript. 2001 was definitely cold-ish.

A veritable mix of Decembers but without doubt more interesting than the 2010s, with the exception of 2010 and 2017. More Decembers than not had some snow.

2000 - snow on the 28th (polar low)

2001 - snow on the 29th/30th (northerly snow showers)

2002 - snow on the 10th (tame easterly)

2003 - no snow but alternating chilly and mild spells

2004 - snow on the 19th and 25th (slider and arctic northwesterly)

2005 - snow on the 29th (battleground snow to rain)

2006 - no snow but cold and foggy in the lead up to Christmas

2007 - no snow but a lengthy 'faux cold' spell in the weeks leading up to Christmas

2008 - no snow but cold first half and even colder from Christmas onwards

2009 - snow on the 21st and 23rd, some still lying on Christmas Day (Severn streamer and a snow/rain/snow event)
