Rumble of thunder rather dark too

had 2-3 rumbles of thunder about 1am and then the power went off. finally came back on about 11am.

Had the odd rumble of thunder every now and again. Currently gusting to about 45 mph although the gusts last night were nearer 60-70 mph.

Have heard a dozen rumbles and seen several flashes in the past hour. Monsoon like rain and Gales, Nasty.

past hour ive had on and off rain, lightening and thunder and gale force winds, not nice.

Latest radar (1600BST) shows a few organised bands of very heavy rainfall aligned with the SW'ly gales including one very potent one stretching from Liverpool to Newcastle. Coupled with gusts of 40 - 50 MPH is making for some appauling conditions in places, whilst here in Berkshire and a few other sheltered places like East Anglia its a fine sunny autumnal late afternoon!

Thundering here, no lightning seen yet, but biiiig rumbles of thunder. Ground shakingly loud!

Been thundering here today.

Just rumbles though, not seen any flashes. Yet.

There was a proper thunderstorm over Lancaster University at about 3:30pm, with three notable flashes of overhead lightning and a deluge of both rain and hail.

The main thing the storm was particularly notable for was how dark it got. It was as if the sun had already set.

One amazing boom of thunder, loudest i`ve ever heard in the UK for sure, then some lightning & pea-sized hail for 2 mins at about 6:10pm in Crewe, cheshire.

Had a storm at about 3pm.....i only saw one flash of lightning, but had quite a few rumbles of thunder...i was in class at the time. We had torrential rain for about 15mins constantly! It wouldn't let up...the whole drive of the school got flooded, and buses took ages to come! It was wicked!

Also had anotha storm about 25mins ago. Pretty much the same as the other one though really....torrential rain

Just had a massive downpour and some loud thunder pass through- a nice suprise it was!

oooh.....gotta massive downpour at the moment, and the road has seemed to disappear lol! One rumble of thunder also...
