9 November 2005 – Derek Brockway 7pm

Flood Warnings - 10

Tonight – Further heavy rain is set to push into Wales tonight, with the heaviest of the rain in NW parts, with 30-40 mm possible in Anglesey. Temps 5-10c.

Tomorrow – Some drizzly rain, with heavier bursts in places, turning drier from the North, with Brighter spells in NE parts, it should be drier but rather cloudy in Southern parts for the afternoon, Temps 13-15c, winds 15-25mph.

Friday (Summary) - A Deep Low Pressure system pushes over the UK bringing Gales to Severe Gales in NW Wales.

Thursday 14c Rain

Friday 15c Rain

Saturday 10c

Sunday 9c Sunny Intervals after early frost

Summary - More rain and Gales likely

Warning - Gales generally with Severe Gales in Western parts.

Tonight - Rain or drizzle tonight with the heaviest of the rain in North Western parts, Temps 9-14c, with a fresh or strong SW wind.

Tomorrow - Damp in the West to start, drier elsewhere, later in the day, more heavy rain will push in from the West, but brighter showery weather will push into Western parts later in the afternoon, Temps 13-15c, with mean winds of 25-40mph, with Gales or severe gales in Western parts,

Saturday 9-11c with Sunshine and Showers

Sunday 8-10c with Sunny Intervals

Summary - Colder, Drier and Brighter, Winds Easing

Tonight - Showery in the south, with hail and thunder possible, drier in the North, Temps 4-9c

Tomorrow - A Few showers continuing in SW parts for the morning, turning brighter later in the South, but cloud increasing with rain in NW parts later, Temps 10-12c.

Tomorrow Night - A Ground frost is possible in places.

Sunday - Sunny Intervals or Cloud, Temps 8-10c

Summary - Rain Tonight, Brightening Up Tomorrow

Synoptics - Cold front pushing south over the UK, is bringing in colder NW winds for Wales this week.

Tonight - A Cold Front pushing south gives cloud and rain to Northern pars this evening before pushing in to South Wales later in the Night. Drier up later in N Wales, but a rather damp evening with hill fog in the South, temps 7-9c.

Tomorrow - Starting damp with hill fog and drizzle, but brightening up with sunshine pushing in from the North, Temps 9-12c, with 10mph N winds.

Wednesday - Sunny Intervals / Showers 8-10c

Thursday - High Pressure over the UK

Tomorrow 12c Showers

Wednesday 9c Sunny Intervals

Summary - Mainly Dry, Sunshine for most

Tonight - More cloud later, with some showers in the far North, a few clear spells inland, leading to a ground frost, Temps 2-7c.

Tomorrow - A Mixture of Sunny Intervals and cloud to start the day, sunnier into the afternoon with perhaps more cloud into SW Wales later. Temps 7-9c, Winds 15mph N

Outlook - Settled as High Pressure takes control with overnight ground frost likely.

Summary - Fine and Crisp, Sunshine and frost

Tonight - Clear Tonight, with only the odd shower in the SW, some inland spots will have mist and fog patches, but there will be a frost over nearly all of Wales, Temps -3c to +2c.

Tomorrow - Sunny Intervals or sunny weather tomorrow possible with a little more cloud in the SW, Temps 6-9c, with another widespread frost tomorrow night, possibly with the SW missing out due to cloud cover, Temps 6-9c.

Summary -Lots more Sunshine and Frost

Tonight - Clear Tonight, with some cloud in the SW especially Pembrokeshire, some inland spots will have mist and fog patches, but there will be a frost over nearly all of Wales, Temps -5c to +2c.

Tomorrow - Sunny Intervals or sunny weather tomorrow possible with a little more cloud in the SW, Temps 4-8c, possibly the fog lingering all day towards the Marches. Winds light from the East.

Outlook - High Pressure continuing to dominate, so fine and settled weather with lots of sunshine.

Summary - Snow on Way

Tonight - Clear Tonight, but with extensive fog developing in many parts, freezing in places, Temps -6 to 0c,

Tomorrow - A Foggy start to the day, this will clear in most spots, but may linger in Valleys in East Wales and over the Marches. Temps 4-10c.

Tuesday 8c Sunny

Wednesday 8c Cloudy

Thursday 7c Rain, turning wintry

Friday 4c Snow Showers

Most of the Snow in the North and West with blizzards possible.

Derek just said , a risk of snow for all of Wales especially in the North and West and the hills, witha dusting of snow possible for Cardiff and Newport, almost word for word what was said on Christmas Eve forecast last year.

22 November 2005 - Derek Brockway

Summary - Cold Arctic Plunge bringing snow, with a risk of Snow for all parts especially in the North and West.

Tonight - A Mixture of low and cloud and some dense fog, but temps still falling to -3 to 0c.

Tomorrow - A Foggy start to the day, this will clear in most spots, but many spots will tend to be rather cloudy, even after the fog lifts, although the odd brighter spell cannot be ruled out, Temps 7-9c, higher in N Wales.

Thursday 9-11c, Rain in North, winds 15mph N.

Low Pressure for Friday with snow, sleet and hail showers with a dusting of snow even possible in Cardiff and Newport.

Summary - Cold Arctic Plunge bringing heavy snow, with a risk of Snow for all parts especially in the North and West.

Tonight - Starting with more fog, dense in places, the fog lifting to cloud, and rain will spread into Northern areas later, Temps 2-5c.

Tomorrow - Rain in South, but drying up later, with a few brighter spells, but with showers, starting to turn wintry in the North, Temps 7-10, with a 17mph wind.

Friday - Risk of Snow , heavy Snow possible especially in the North and West , drifting with blizzards over hills and mountains, Eastern areas may miss the worst with a dusting possible.

SEVERE WEATHER WARNING - Heavy Snow for NW, W and SW Wales.

Summary - Much Colder with snow for some, Icy winds.

Tonight - Snow tonight effecting NW, SW and W Wales, showers effecting western parts at the moment are starting to turn to snow, drier in the East. Overnight some snow is expected for Anglesey, Gwynedd, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Swansea and possibly as far east as Bridgend. Some of the snow is set to be heavy with blizzards possible over mountains. A covering is likely in many places, with possibly 15-25mm (6-10 inches) possible on the hills. Some of the showers will be thundery, generally drier in E Wales. Temps -1 to +5c. With the very strong Northerly winds, feeling bitter outside.

Tomorrow - Hail and Snow showers will continue in the morning, effecting largely the same areas as before, during the afternoon, the showers will revert back to sleet, hail and rain, but remaining dry in Eastern areas, with good sunny spells. Temps 4-6c, with bitterly cold northerly winds, with gals force winds in the West, there will be a sever wind chill.

Turning milder over the weekend, with further showers of hail, sleet and rain, Temps 5-8c. .

Summary - The worst of the snow is over, the threat now is for Ice.

Tonight - Showers in Northern and Western parts, of rain, hail and sleet, snow now reserved for the highest hills, Temps ranging from -2 to +3c.

Tomorrow - After an Icy start, there will be showers tomorrow in Wetern areas again, the showers of rain, hail, sleet, with snow over higher hills, it will tend to be drier and brighter in the SE, Temps 6-8c.

Cold Again Saturday Night with a widespread frost.

Sunday - A few showers, Temps 6-8c.

Summary - Cold and Icy

Tonight - Dry and clear in most places to start, Overnight temps dropping to -4c inland, but temps 3c in the far West with some rain possible.

Tomorrow - A few showers pushing in from the West with rain in most places, with some snow possible in higher ground inland, Tempos 4-7c.

Tomorrow Night - Cloud with further rain, Snow on higher ground , Temps 2-8c .

Outlook

Summary - Turning Milder with Rain

Tonight - Rain pushing in from the West late evening, with some snow over higher hills, Temps -2 to +5c, with Icy Roads in Eastern parts.

Tomorrow - After the main rain band moves away, a mainly damp day, with showers pushing in from the West, with a chance of Hill fog. Temps 6-10c, with a SW wind of around 10mph.

Outlook

Summary - Milder but wetter and windier

Tonight - Fog to start in the east, but this clearing away later, Generally a damp night, with temps 4-7c with a fresh SE wind.

Tomorrow - Rain in the SW at first will push across Wales, after a cloudy but dry start in the North, Wet in most parts for the afternoon, but drying up in the SW later. Temps 9-11c.
