Only 4cm here - all from last nights snowfall.

Obs at 8.00hrs

Clear

Wind NW 5kts

Visibility over 30km

Temp -4c

Pressure 1012mb

Yesterday evening we had thawing of the lying snow even though temps were below zero ( ground "heat" as there has only been 1 significant frost here so far this autumn). What a pity - if all the snow had accumulated we would have about

15cm.

Noticed this morning that the "snow line" is at 200m all land below that has no snow cover at all.

All we had was light rain and mild temps of 11c yesterday evening  until 9pm and the rain stopped and temps dropped very rapidly at around 1c every 3 minutes for around half an hour. :D Then this morning we had a few flakes of snow :(:( - obviously didn't do anything but it is very surprising to see any snow or sleet down here before December. Very icy this morning too! :D

Looks pretty dark over the Wirral way from here Ste, and it is a Wet Snow/Hail mix here, so I wouldn't be suprised.

Can you see the Clwydians from Hope Campus? They where out of the cloud this morning, looked great, got some pics I will try an upload later.

I cannot see the Clwyddians from Liverpool Hope but im going home soon so i will. I can guarantee Heswall will have pure snow due to its height. Looks forward to seeing whats settled as its been going a while. Can you see the Wirral at all?? or is the visibility too rubbish?

No Ste. I can't see the Wirral from here...

It must be due to the Earth's curvature or something...lol

How's the study going btw???

I have found webcams for the Wirral on the Internet, but not any for Heswall.

It would appear to be snowing, but not settling, in most places.

Can only see as far up as Burton from here (no lying snow there, but thats only 10m higher than here  ), can nearly see Neston area. Will be able to see it when I get home :D If the visibility is ok.

Nothing here in Burnley itself apart from frost, however look around you to the hills which tower around the town in all directions and there's a good covering of snow. I've attempted to take a photo of pendle hill from near my house where theres a clear view and we'll see how it turns out when I get back, but basically anything high up in Burnley will have woken to a covering which has stayed since 9pm last night when the last of the band headed south which shows how cold it is. The car was frozen rigid this morning and I managed to nearly take the handle of the passenger side door but fixed it now. If anyone's interested I'll post the image when I get home later tonight.
