Bit of light sleet here now. I'm unimpressed.

we now have lying snow in Stanley, a bit of hail has helped for the snow to lie, just a dusting but it is lying.

Heavy snow here. Covering on cars, roofs and grass. Sleet started at around 9pm and turned to heavy snow about 20 minutes ago. Temperature at 0C.

Hail and sleet showers generally in the Tyne and Wear region between 5 and 7pm on the 18th December.
