Widespread Icy Roads & Heavy Snow

Affecting Derby, Derbyshire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Stoke-On-Trent, Telford + Wrekin & Worcestershire

A band of rain, sleet and snow, will continue to spread eastwards during the remainder of Monday morning and into Monday afternoon. This will bring some accumulations of snow, 3cm to 7cm is expected, mainly on roads above approx 250m, though some snow is expected for a time at lower levels. Icy patches are also likely in association with the snow, and as rain falls onto frozen surfaces. This will make for dangerous driving conditions.

Been a mixed bag of weather today, this morning we had large snow flurries, but they didnt stick, then it sleeted and this afternoon hailstoned, then we got a few breaks in clouds and Cumulus was convecting.

Hello all this is my first post from the new boy.....I'm in Llandudno on the spit of land on Wales north shores......

Plenty of rain here and some real periods of heavy downpores.....few claps of thunder a while back as well......no snow though i have to say......but then in Llandudno snow is rare...........ish.................

I see Hywel is enjoying heavy snow.........what part of this glorious land is that......

If its near Llandudno i'm of there tommorow for some snow fun

Started out with hard frost, and clear skies.

Became very cold by lunchtime, with a westerly bitter wind.

Rain/sleet this afternoon clearing to cloudy conditions, westerly wind and feeling very cold.

Slightly warmer then this morning.

Shawbury (official) weather station recorded a minimum of -6.6C last night... that's the coldest so far this Winter and I'm pretty sure that it beats any minimum set last Winter too.

It also beat Sennybridge's minimum for last night too... :lol:
