Woohoo.... Just had a snow shower, in Yeovil, for about 15 mins but it stuck straight away and has give everything a covering.

Happy White Christmas to Everyone (apologies to those that don't see any :) )

Just had a very heavy blizzard-like snow shower leaving a covering in most places. Bring on the next....

Nothing in South Tyneside, because:

a) the coldest air didn't reach us in time. The showers did get over the Pennines at 6am, but the temperature stuck at around 2-3C giving sleety drizzle. The cold air is now fully upon us, and it's dry and sunny.

:) The Pennines are now doing a good job of keeping us dry.

In the meantime, the events at Lancaster University, from the evidence of the webcam, were as follows:

Until 10:00am: heavy showers of hail, sleet and wet snow, which did not generally settle, due to Lancaster being by the sea.

After 10:00am: Snow- and settling snow at that! True to form, cold zonality continues to represent Lancaster's most reliable snow setup.

A white Christmas at Lancaster University- and not here! :):):D

been out for an hour or so and snow showers on and off just like in the photos. I'm off out soon for the night, christmas lunch, christmas drink and then christmas sleep. Taking my camera as I'll be 200 m higher than I am now.

It just snowed proper here in Ross, Herefordshire!

For about half an hour around midday it was snowing, settled about 1cm light covering on grass and verges.

Stopped now but it certainly was festive, now I've seen a white christmas! :)

No snow in Tyne and Wear but at my Grandma's house in Newton Aycliffe there is a light covering, so I am enjoying a white christmas.

Had a very heavy soft hail shower about 45 minutes ago, followed by a very bleak period of snow that settled and left about 0.5-1cm of snow on grass and slush everywhere else! Bring on more snow!

Light snow falling for the last 15 minutes. We seem to be on the northern edge of an area of showers moving south east across the Derby area.

Temp' down to -0.3c.
