4.3°C, dry but feels colder...i am hoping for some snow this morning at the very least after thas amazing bizaree weather...then agin after lunch it will prolly be 20°C...funny this..somehow cold front are meant to bring cold, not stay the same temps, the occluded front has now disappeard, which was there last night....seems cold fronts dont mean cold anymore...maybe this will change and we'll experience some now here in the NW

I was awoken at 1.00am this morning by a huge hail storm! It is very rarely that i'm awoken but this was loud! Hail bouncing off everything and the wind howling, it lasted about half hour and i returned to sleep :D

I looked on the radar for about this time and could see bright red echoes, london areas should of had this weather also? Anyone confirm?

Overcast skies, frequent blustery rain showers, with the odd bit of hail thrown in for good measure, feeling chilly in the North West Wind.

    • Exceptional warmth for western Europe as October begins

There'll be exceptionally warm temperatures for the time of year affecting much of western Europe during the coming days, but that warmth will only graze the UK for now. Next weekend may see a more direct hit with the potential for southerly winds to draw some of that heat north and take temperatures into the mid or high-twenties. Read the full update here

There will be downpours into Tuesday with blustery winds picking up. Western Scotland will see a wet few days later this week. Then heat from Spain will surge up from the south giving a warm weekend. Read the full update here
