Yesterday afternoon/early evening saw a heavy sleet shower here, lasted for about an hour - thought it was turning to snow at one point, but it just stayed as sleet.

Not sure what the weather was up to first thing, but during the bulk of the day we had some very impressive hail showers, which to the untrained eye might have looked like snow, particularly when it started to melt a little as it was falling, but Stratos wasn't taken in - not for nothing all those years of watching wintry precipitation impact glass!

Had about one minute's snow at the end of the last beefy hail shower at 4:30ish. I would have dismissed it as more hail but my daughters were adamant and, sure enough, very wet, graupelly snow.

Rather sad that winter's excitement has come to this.

OK in the middle of the night on Saturday there was a heavy fall of hail, nothing big but it fell and counts as being on Sunday as it was early sunday morning.
