We have had a couple of squally sleet showers, one about 30mins ago, here in North Aberdeenshire!

It had abit of everything thrown in, sorry I am a novice at this and not sure on all the technical terms. Hopefully I will start to learn them!

welcome Triumph, enjoy Net Weather, and you will soon pick up the words. Have alook at abbreviations for some, then Net Wx Guides and just click on whatever you want to learn about.

regards

Sleet and small hail falling in a surprisingly heavy shower at the moment.

Very heavy hail shower at about 6.30, followed by sleety stuff for a while. Temperature dropped from 6.4ºC to 3.3ºC in 20 minutes.

Had the lightest possible flurry a few minutes ago from a mainly clear sky....I know because the flakes landed on my telescope lens. Nothing like the 15ft up the road in Consett though. HAHAHA.

To be fair, Consett has its own microclimate, not just because of the altitude of nearly 1,000ft, but because of its exposed location, and it isn't too far from the sea as the crow flies. Wouldn't surprise me if there is lying snow there right now.

I've had heavy hail and sleet which left a temporary cover.

Had some very heavy hail showers and squalls from 18:00 onwards, left a thin covering of ice.

There's been a light dusting on the Malvern Hills overnight. I don't know what time it was - I was asleep! :D

There's grey cloud over the Black Mountains at present, but I can't tell if it's snowing or not. There's been no snow as yet either on Hergest Ridge or Clee Hill though.
