    Snow and sleet showers will continue to affect many parts of the east and central areas, especially of England through the rest of today. Snow will lie briefly over low ground but above about 150-200 metres may well accumulate up to 5cm in places.

    Another update will be issued this evening for tonight and tomorrow. If necessary Flash alerts may be issued for particular areas.
