Woken this morning by the sound of thunder! How sweet was that.Camcorder at the ready too.A very 'strange' sky with slow but heavy drops of rain are falling, temp is only 21c.

I think this is a developing storm,as nothing is showing up on the lightening site yet, unlike the Massive storm in North Wales travelling East into England  ,anyone under it?

The storm seems to be encircling us at the mo, nothing dramatic as yet,i'll keep you posted. :?:

If you look at west side of Scotland, there are lots of lightning strikes piling in,and in the channel off the coast of Cherburg a storm is heading towards Poole/south coast. :D

Good Morning All.

Storms here this morning :!: :!: :D

Started at 9:00 am, Very heavy rain with sheet and intra cloud lightning though the sheet lightning when the storm moved in was allmost continuous like a strobe light from the cloud WOW :!: :!: :D:D

Just saw a really big IC discharge out of my window with very loud thunder I think these things are gaining intensity now.

I will keep you all updated so long as I have power.

That cell is moving off towards manchester now and the sun is coming through.

There is anouther area of darkness out to my west now I think it's anouther cell.

I think thats the pattern we'll all see today lots of multicell storms one after anouther like thay squall line in 1992 I think it was, I belive they are called training storms in the u.s.

Never the less very unstable atmosphere, Expect some big ones today people :!: :!: :D:D

some more red circles appearing on the spherics chart looks like its going to kick out again fairly soon

see how the spike suddenly jumped up it appears that it couldnt hold all the strikes in its memory or something

The back-edge of the front is in sight - very blue sky out to the west. :D

Despite what the radar suggests we've not had even the smallest pice of drizzle out of that front!

It's now 17.4 C.

London was at 27! at 9 am - that's about 4C up on yesterday so far!! :D

still a storm here.

Heres what this area has has this morning.

2 torrential (and I mean torrential) downpours

4 thunderstorms

1 spectacular sheet lightning display

I have to research these as one of the storms could have been a supercell

Yeah, I saw that too late - if the storms stay off long enough - 37.2 could go by 2 pm! :D:D

Well this morning in Swindon looked really promising, the clouds have cleared and the temps are shooting upwards, 25c ATM.

Yesterday was so opressive,35c and very, very uncomfortable.
