0700rs Saturday 26/2/05

This morning is dull and overcast with light snow falling from a band of ppn sinking slowly south west.

Winter gave a light dusting of snow overnight falling on to frozen ground, roads will be icy this morning. Yesterday's light showers towards the evening brings the total to about 12.5cm since Monday evening - snow at some point on each of six consecutive days is not bad at all for a even larger teapot in late February.

As the current band of rain/sleet/snow passes through, the air behind will be drier, brighter and generally much more stable. Temperatures currently just below freezing will rise and continue the thaw of lying snow. There is the possibility of convective showers building in the North Sea and blow in on the light North Easterly, may produce snow showers for eastern coastal regions. From around 2pm this afternoon, temperatures will fall away with ice once again a problem.

Expected high of 4C, feeling like 2C with windchill.

0.1C (min -1.2C @02:46) windchill -2.0C

4kts NNW (10 minute average); gusting 8kts (1 minute average over last hour); max gust 12kts @ 00:06

0.0mm/hr last hour; max 0.0mm/min over last 12hrs; total 0.00mm/12hrs

1015.8hPa msl corrected, trend falling slowly, -0.4hPa/hr

94% humidity

-2.8C dewpoint (-0.9C wetbulb)
