A staggering contrast in temps by taking the 1st 14 days and the last 14 days separately

Whole month

Average max = 6.03c (highest 11c on 1st,8th,10th,11th)

Average min = 0.67c (lowest = -5c on 16th,28th)

Mean = 3.35c

Dry days = 10

Precip days = 18 (of which snow/sleet/hail = 12)

Approx rainfall = 30mm (I'm very unsure )

Average max = 8c

Average min = 3.71c

Mean = 5.85c

Last 14 days

Average max = 4.07c

Average min = -2.2c

Mean = 0.93c

**A staggering difference in the means of those fortnight periods of just about 5c!

February 2004 followed an almost identical pattern!

Monthly Report for February 2005 at Pollard's Hill Weather Station, Surrey

Temperatures across the board were below average, With a mean of 5.0c It was the fourth coldest February (My Temperature records here began in September 1990) The coldest February was in 1991 when the mean was 2.81c.

We had the lowest February night Minimum Temperature for 11 years on the 28th with -4.7c. The record low remains -8.5c on February 7th 1991. Will it ever be broken? Records are made to be broken under the right conditions.

The Easterly wind made an appearance during the last week of the month and with it came some Snow showers. The morning of the 25th being quite memorable for many.

In terms of Rainfall (My Rainfall records here began in February 1993) It was the fourth driest February with 25mm. The driest is February 1998 which had only 3mm. The wettest February is 2001 which weighed in with a quite respectable 90mm.

I suspect everyone will have a month of two halves, mine certainly show me that, although i've just pout the whole month on my signature. the mean of the last 10 days is about 3C, earlier it was nearer 7c
