    Snowing here quite heavy and laying its looks quiet nice.

    Heres a warning from met office.

    REGIONAL FLASH WARNINGS OF SEVERE WEATHER

    These warnings are issued when severe weather is expected to cause disruption to traffic etc. over the next few hours.

    Heavy Snow

    Affecting Darlington, Durham, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Northumberland, Redcar + Cleveland, Stockton-On-Tees & Tyne + Wear

    Outbreaks of snow overnight are likely to lead to accumulations of around 5 to 8 cms in places and some dangerous driving conditions, especially over higher ground. Along with the snow, there will be icy patches on many untreated roads.

    And about time too - its arrived here. Light shower but hopefully its the leading edge of that "streamer" in from the north. Nice looking echoes over Newcastle BTW.

    least 1" to 2" of snow now sticking newcastle, just started snowing very heavily again looking at 1.00am ukmo radar could be a very heavy fall coming!

    Woke up to find 5mm has fallen overnight. This will cause chaos for the Appleby rush-hour, which I hope is given attention on the national news.

    Snow showers overnight have left a covering of around 1cm, so nothing drastic here, although the ice may be.

    About a cm of lying snow as I woke up an hour ago, already starting to melt away in the blazing sunshine. Did quite well, to say I'm located on the western side of the Pennines. Snake Pass closed, and treachorous conditions leading up into Saddleworth.

    Snow flurries on and off all night in Derby and there is a flurry at the moment from a blue sky and bright sun and all the flakes are still settling.

    An amazing start to the day as it look very pretty.
