Been snowing for about 20 minutes now, looks like someone has released a load of soap suds with are just floating around on a strong wind.

A few very light snow flurries in the past hour but no addition to the lying snow. Ground 75% covered with almost 10cm of snow but it's all old frozen stuff that's been very slowly diminishing for the last week.

Temp' -1.5c.

Had about 2" left from yesterday this morning. Awoke to heavy snow falling. Have had 3 more showers since - each one getting heavier. The last made our total on the gruond at about 3". (It thaws slighty between showers).

Couldn't file yesterday as I was on a grand tour of snow-world (more below), but it snowed lightly in Startosshire, just a dusting: about a couple of cms in Leeds though. Manchester had nothing, thoughthe Pennines were still well covered. Cloudy then all the way to Dusseldorf, where there was a good cover of decently engineered German snow, cleared with all the efficiency one might hope for. Here in Berlin, at least in what was the Russian bit thereof, there's also a good cover, of even better German snow. Nice clear footpaths with nice piles of non thawing snow cleared alongside. Lots of snow in Amsterdam this morning - plenty of problems with outbound flights from Schipol (never go there without supplies and a tent by the way). Snowing persistently with the finest, lightest snow imaginable all morning here - if it keep up until June there'll be another cm. Might provide an update when I come home.

I gather from the cat-minder that Stratos Towers has another 2cm today as well - will it ever stop snowing?

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
