Somewhat bizzarely and unexpectedly (though I hadn't been watching the detail) awoke from my post run nap at 7:30pm (it was a long "nap") to find a dusting of snow. Another light interval of snow between around 9-10pm, nothing more than about 1.25 on Stratos's unpatented scale, but enough to give a dusting. The cats were mesmerised watching the snowflakes. They are well trained.

Snowed up here in Darwen late last night, and it settled.

Left a couple of cm on the ground, but it was all gone by daylight.

Must admit that's staggering: we had a couple more very light intervals of snow between 01-03h this morning, but still only a dusting. Certainly no more than 1-2mm of partial cover, and nothing settled below around 800'.
