Summary - Stormy night

Severe Weather Warnings - STORM FORCE winds tonight in parts of Scotland, with gusts up to 90mph during the early part of tonight. FLOODING risk for Wales due to the heavy rain expected tomorrow and the already high river levels.

Tonight - A deep low pressure system will give heavy rain to Northern Ireland, Scotland and much of N England although the far NE may remain dry, North and West Wales. It will be extremely windy with gales in many western exposed spots, and STORM force winds possible for NW Scotland.

During the night the rain will very slightly edge away into North and West Wales, much of the Northern Midlands, most of N England, although, Scotland and N Ireland may turn drier. During the night, the winds will start to ease off in Scotland. SE England will end to have a cloudy but dry night. Temps 7-9c in Scotland and N Ireland, 10-12c over England and Wales.

Tomorrow - It is set to be an atrocious day for parts of North and West Wales with continuous heavy rain which may well cause flooding. South and East Wales and SW England are set to see heavy rain in the afternoon after a cloudy start. The rain will also affect the North Midlands and parts of Northern England. However, the border areas of Northern England should stay dry, along with N Ireland and Scotland though showers are possible here. SE England is set to have the best of the weather with some sunny intervals at times. Winds will be strong with mean speeds of 20mph in many western areas. Temps 9-10c in Scotland and N Ireland, 14-15c over England and Wales.

Into the evening, the rain will finally push Eastwards across SE England but fade away as it does so, Temps 9-10c over Scotland, 10in N Ireland, 14-15 over England and Wales.

Wednesday - A much more settled day with sunny spells possible in many areas, Temps 10-12 over England and Wales, closer to 9c in Scotland and N Ireland.

Thursday - Turning unsettled once again with more rain spreading across the UK through the day. Temps 11-14 over Scotland, 14 in N Ireland, 14-16 over England and Wales.

SEVERE WEATHRE WARNING – Flooding is a risk in parts due to previous heavy rain over Wales, and tonights rain over Southern England may also lead to flooding.

Tonight - Heavy rain over much of England will move east tonight and clear East Anglia during the early hours, drier over Wales, N Ireland and Scotland, Temps 2-6 in Scotland, 3 in N Ireland, 3-8 in England and Wales, a ground frost is possible in many inland spots.

Tomorrow - A much more settled day tomorrow, with lots of bright weather, there could be some showers in Western areas to start the day but these should soon fade away. However it may turn cloudier later in Northern Ireland ahead of the next band of rain set to mover across the UK on Thursday. Temps 9-11c over Scotland, 10 in N Ireland, 9-12 over England and Wales.

Thursday - Another band of rain pushing across the UK especially over Southern parts. Temps 11-14c

Friday - A Deep Autumnal storm will spread across the UK giving further rain in places, Temps 11-14c.

Tonight - More rain pushing in from the West overnight effecting N Ireland, Scotland, NW and SW England and Wales, drier in the SE, Temps 5-9c over Scotland, 9c in N Ireland, 7-8 over England and Wales.

Tomorrow - Scotland and N Ireland will see a mixture of heavy showers and some sunny spells, N England will be rather cloudy but there may be a few brighter spells for the afternoon. A band of rain will effect Southern parts of Wales and England, with Wales perhaps turning a little drier for the afternoon, while damp conditions remaining for much of Southern England for the afternoon, Temps 11-12c over Scotland, 13c in N Ireland, 14-16c over England and Wales.

A Deep Atlantic storm is set to then push in for Tomorrow Night into Friday, bringing some very stormy weather.

Tomorrow Night into Friday - Wet weather pushing into many western areas tomorrow night, so heavy rain for Scotland, N Ireland, Western parts of England and Wales, with winds picking to Gale force in many western areas .

For Friday Many Western areas will see heavy rain for much of the day, it should turn drier in the afternoon, the rain pushing to eastern parts later in the day. 70mph Gusts possible in many western coastal areas, with 80mph+ possible for W Scotland later on in the day.

Temps 9-13c over Scotland, 11c in N Ireland, 12-16 over England and Wales.

Tonight - Damp this evening in places, with some drizzly rain in Western areas, perhaps a few clear spells in NE parts. Later on this evening, Rain will push into N Ireland, NW England, W Scotland and Wales, overnight the rain will edge out of Wales but continue for N England, Scotland and N Ireland. Dry over SE England, perhaps a little drizzly rain in Western fringes of Wales by morning, Temps 6-9c over Scotland, 10c in N Ireland, 11-14c over England and Wales.

Tomorrow - Much of England and Wales will be dry to start the day, but there will be some drizzly rain over Southern and Western coasts.

During the afternoon, a cold front will push through Wales and reach Central England. Several hours of rain are likely, with cloudy weather ahead, and cooler, brighter and showery weather pushing into Wales later. Winds will be strong with Gales possible in Western parts, Temps 14-17c.

Scotland and N Ireland will start wet with heavy rain, but this will ease with showers following on behind for the afternoon. However the main story will be the wind with SEVERE GALES possible in NW parts with 70mph winds expected, and 40-50mph is possible over many parts. Temps 10-14c.

Saturday - Dry in the south with good sunny intervals, showery in the North, especially in areas exposed to the Northerly breeze, Temps 8-9 over Scotland, 10 in N Ireland, 11-12c over England and Wales.

Sunday – A few showers are possible on Eastern coasts, more cloud on exposed coasts to the Northerly breeze, but generally brighter than Saturday with good sunny intervals in many places. Temps 7-8c in Scotland, 9c in N Ireland, 7-8c over Scotland.

11 November 2005 - 10pm

Tonight - Showery in SW parts of England and West Wales, perhaps more persistent rain over NW England and W Scotland, drier and clear over Eastern parts. Temps 6-7 in Scotland, 6 in N Ireland, 10 in England and Wales.

Tomorrow - It will start brighter in Eastern areas, with showers continuing in SW parts, and a small band of rain pushing South over Western pars of Scotland. Into the afternoon, the showers over SW parts will tend to die out, and much of Southern England and Wales will be dry with good sunny spells. The rain band will push into N Ireland and N England; with showers following on behind to Scotland, and these may fall as snow in the Scottish mountains, Temps 8-10 in Scotland, 11-12 over England and Wales.

Tomorrow night the rain band will push into Southern parts, but fizzle out as it does so, Temps 1-4 in Scotland, 3-5 over England and Wales, so a ground frost is possible.

Sunday - A Bright day over Northern England, turning drier and brighter for the afternoon in Southern parts as the rain band pushes away. Turning damp in Scotland later, after a brighter start, Temps 7-9 in Scotland, 8 in N Ireland, 8-11 over England and Wales.

Monday - Sunny over Southern parts as High Pressure takes over, Cloudy over Scotland and N Ireland, temps 9-13c.

Tonight - A Band of rain pushing South, reaching Southern areas during the night, turning drier and colder in Northern pars later.

Tomorrow - Rain in Southern England to start the day, cloudy in Wales and Central parts of England, but sunnier over N England, N Ireland and Scotland although there will be showers in Scotland, these wintry over the hills.

Into the afternoon, turning drier and sunnier in N England and Wales as the rain and cloud pushes away to the South, showers continuing over Scotland, turning more to snow, as reflected by the use of the new snow graphic, with some heavy snow possible in the Northern Isles.

Temps 5-8c in Scotland, 9c in N Ireland 8-13c over England and Wales.

Wednesday - Winds will be blowing directly from the arctic bringing cold winds to all of the UK. Generally Sunny in many parts, but showers for Eastern parts, which may be wintry. and possibly more cloud in SW parts, Temps 5-7 in Scotland, 7 in N Ireland, 7-9 over England and Wales.

Thursday - Another mainly dry sunny day, but with some showers possible in the SE Temps 5-8 in Scotland, 7 in N Ireland, 7-9 over England and Wales.

Tonight - A mainly dry night over most parts, although, there may well be some snow showers over NE Scotland, with some rain showers also effecting many Eastern coasts of England, Temps 1-3c in Scotland, 2c in N Ireland, 1-4c over England and Wales, with a widespread ground frost, and an air frost in prone spots.

Tomorrow - Showers continuing over N Ireland and Eastern coastal districts of England and Scotland, with these falling snow in NE Scotland again, there may also be more cloud over SW Wales and SE England, although most other spots will have a bright /sunny day, Temps 6-7c in Scotland, 7c in N Ireland, 7-9 over England and Wales, feeling cold in a brisk Northerly wind.

Thursday - Another mainly dry sunny day, but with some rain showers possible over Eastern coasts of England. Temps 6-7c in Scotland, 8c in N Ireland, 6-9c over England and Wales.

Friday (Summary) - Sunny or Sunny Intervals 5-8c.

Tonight - A mainly dry clear night over most parts, although, there may well be some showers over Eastern parts of Scotland and England, Temps -4 to +1c in Scotland, 0c in N Ireland, -2 to +2c over England and Wales, with a widespread frost.

Tomorrow - Most places will have either be sunny or have long sunny intervals, but again with more cloud in Eastern parts of England with further showers, possibly a little more cloud in SW parts later, Temps 5-6c in Scotland, 6c in N Ireland, 5 to 9c over England and Wales.

Friday - Most places will have either sunny intervals, or a sunny day, more cloud in the SE with a few more showers, and also a little more cloud in SW parts of England and Wale, more so then Thursday. Temps 6-8c in Scotland, 8c in N Ireland, 7-8c over England and Wales.

Weekend - As High Pressure builds over the UK, it will continue to be sunny over much of England, Wales and N Ireland and S Scotland perhaps with more cloud in N Scotland. Temps 8-11c in Scotland, 8-9c in N Ireland, 7-10c over England and Wales. With Overnight temps down to -3 to -4 in many inland spots, giving further heavy frost.

Summary - Frosty Tonight

Tonight - A mainly dry clear night over most parts, although, there may well be more cloud over Eastern coastal parts of England, South West Wales, SW England and N Ireland. This may keep the temperatures up here, but the rest of the UK, is likely to see sharp frosts with fog likely in E Wales and many Central parts of England, Temps -4 to -2c in Scotland, 0c in N Ireland, -5 to +1c over England and Wales.

Tomorrow - Most places will have either sunny intervals, or a sunny day, more cloud in the SE with the odd shower, and also a little more cloud in SW parts of England and Wales, more so then Today. Fog may tend to linger in the borer areas between Wales and England, Temps 4-7c in Scotland, 10c in N Ireland, 6-9c over England and Wales, but closer to freezing in areas where the fog persists all day.

Saturday - As High Pressure builds over the UK, it will continue to be sunny over much of England, Wales and N Ireland and S Scotland perhaps with more cloud in N Scotland. Temps 6-11c in Scotland, 7-9c in N Ireland, 6-10c over England and Wales.

Sunday - Sunny over most spots as High Pressure continues to dominate, but more cloud again in N Scotland, Temps 9-11c in Scotland, 8c in N Ireland, 7-9c over England and Wales.

Outlook - Similar with High Pressure dominating.

No real forecast today, but the BBC are keeping the cool High pressure theme going with lots of sunshine and frost overnight in Southern areas, possibly turning a little milder in the North at the start of next week both by day and night. So no over night frost and double figure temps next week in Northern areas.

Summary - DENSE FOG Tonight

Tonight - A mainly dry clear night over much of England and Wales tonight, with dense fog patches developing widely over inland parts of England and Wales, Southern Scotland and N Ireland. There will be more cloud over N Scotland and possibly in E England later. Temps 0-8c in Scotland, 1c in N Ireland, -3 to +2c over England and Wales.

Tomorrow - Fog to start over much of SE Wales, the Midlands, N England and S Scotland, with more cloud in SE England, so less fog here. The fog will persist in many parts, but more cloud moving into S England will tend to replace the fog. There will tend to be a sunny say over much of W Wales, SW England and where the fog tends to breaks. It may also turn a little brighter in E parts later, there will tend to be more cloud in N Scotland for much of the day, Temps 7-11c over Scotland, 10 in N Ireland, 2-9 over England and Wales.

Wednesday (Summary) – A Similar day in Southern parts 4-8c, with some sunny spells but fog again in places, Rain into Scotland and N Ireland, 2-9c.

Thursday (Summary) – Showers over coasts in the South, Snow Showers developing in the North, Temps 6-9c.

Friday – Arctic winds bringing Snow Showers over the North, spreading to all coasts exposed to the N wind, with BLIZZARDS over E Scotland and NE England.

Summary - DENSE FOG Tonight

Tonight - Dense Fog developing for much of the UK tonight, with Southern Parts of England and N Scotland, being areas most likely to stay clear of fog, with clear spells in Southern England and cloud in N Scotland. Temps -3 to 8c in Scotland, 0 in N Ireland, -1 to 4 over England and Wales.

Tomorrow - Fog to start over much of Wales, the Midlands, N England and S Scotland, there will tend to be cloud over NW Scotland, brighter in NE Scotland and NE England.

The fog will linger in some inland spots all day, but most places will see the fog lift, although many parts will stay remain grey and cloudy. It will tend to turn sunnier over much of S England and parts of S Scotland, with some rain pushing into N Scotland later. Temps 8-11c over Scotland, 6c in N Ireland, 4-9c over England and Wales.

Into the evening the rain in N Scotland will push south over Scotland, and there will be more foggy weather for England and Wales.

End of Week - Showers into N Scotland on Thursday steadily turning to snow, the cold air will flood South by Friday and the weather map showed snow showers for most windward coasts of the UK on Friday, Temps ranging from 2 in Scotland, to 4-7 over England and Wales.

WARNINGS - Gales, Snow and Ice

Tonight - Strong Northerly winds from the Arctic are set to bring snow showers to N Ireland, Wales, SW England and E England and much of Scotland, Temps 0-1c. with some persistent snow possible over Scotland, and Wales and SW England, however, It will tend to be drier inland

Tomorrow - Snow Showers will continue tomorrow morning over SW England, Wales, N Ireland, N Scotland and along the coast of England with clearer weather inland.

During the day the showers will tend to turn a little less wintry, with the snow generally reserved for the hills, but may continue over windward coasts. Again mainly dry inland, another cold day, with temps reaching 4-6c, feeling very cold in the wind with a severe wind chill in most places, there is the prospect of more rain, sleet and snow in SE areas tomorrow evening and overnight.

Weekend - Remaining cold with a wind chill, with wintry showers over many coasts exposed to the Northerly breeze, these falling as snow over higher hills and in Scotland, hail and sleet are possible elsewhere, Temps 5-7c over England and Wales, 3-4 in Scotland.

Tonight - More snow is expected for a time in Western Cornwall, there will be sleet and snow showers in Pembrokeshire. A band of rain will cross through the SE of England tonight from the North Sea, there will be some snow for a time, but it is likely to revert back to rain, however this may lead to some ICY surfaces.

There will be further showers in NE England and Scotland, these falling as snow on Scottish hills,

It will be dry elsewhere, leading to some cold conditions, with widespread frost and ICE. Temps 2-4c in Scotland, 2 in N Ireland, -2 to +2 in England and Wales.

Tomorrow - Snow Showers will continue tomorrow morning over SW England, W Wales, N Scotland and along the coast of England with clearer weather inland. There will be snow again for hills in Scotland, but rain or hail is likely elsewhere, many inland areas, will be dry with good sunny intervals. Temps will rise tomorrow to 6-8c in Scotland, 7 in N Ireland, 7-8 in England and Wales, leading to a thaw in snowfields.

Sunday - A mixture of Sunshine with a few showers again possible, Temps 5-7c.

Monday - Sunny intervals 4-7c.

Tonight - A Band of snow tonight for the West Country, S Midlands, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire into Teeside, moving SE later and fading as it does so, Much clearer over Wales, SW England, NW England, cloudy over Scotland and N Ireland.

Later in the Night, turning drier and clearer in Central parts but more cloud moving into N Ireland and W Wales, ICE will be a problem in many areas overnight, Temps -1 to +1 ion Scotland, 0 in N Ireland, -3 to +2 over England and Wales.

Tomorrow - Rain and sleet will push into West Wales and N Ireland, with sunny intervals over SE Scotland and N Ireland, Cloudy over most other spots, Temps 3-4c over Scotland, 3 in N Ireland, 4-7 over England and Wales.

Midweek - Turning Milder with Rain pushing in from the West.

Warning - Black Ice

Tonight - Milder weather is slowly attempting to push in form the West tonight, as it does so, rain will push in, but with the cold temperatures at ground level, freezing rain is a major problem.

So, the rains will push into Wales, Northern Ireland and W Scotland later evening, with many Eastern parts staring dry. The rain will reach central areas of England and Scotland by early morning, with snow likely over the highest hills, with freezing rain very likely for a time in many spots, before reverting back to rain as the milder air pushes in. Cloudier and Drier in Wales and SW England and N Ireland later, possibly remaining dry in Eastern pars. Temps -5c to +1 in Scotland, -5 to +2 over England and Wales.

Tomorrow - The rain will push into Eastern districts with less chance of freezing rain, as the ground temperatures are likely to have risen before it reaches here.

It will turn milder in Western and Central parts, with a lot of cloudy and misty murky conditions, Temps 3-8 in Scotland, 8 in N Ireland, 4-10 over England and Wales, with a clear East West split over the UK, with the milder weather in the West.

Outlook

Thursday and Friday- Outbreaks of rain pushing in from the West, Temps 7-10 over England and Wales, 6-9 over Scotland.

30 November 2005 – Isobel Lang 7pm

Summary - Mild and Misty

Tonight - A much milder night, virtually everywhere will be frost free, the exception being the Highlands of Scotland, There will be rain tomorrow morning in N Ireland, SW Scotland, West Wales and SW England, with strong winds here, Most other parts will be cloudier and largely dry, although damp in many places. Temps 4-6 in Scotland, 8-9 over England and Wales.

Tomorrow - The rain will steadily move Eastwards during the day, so that by late afternoon, the rain will have reached many central parts of England and Scotland, It will remain dry in the East, and it will turn drier in the West with some brighter spells possibly developing in SW England and SW Wales.

Temps 8-9c over Scotland, 9c in N Ireland, 8-10c over England and Wales.

Friday and Saturday - Generally an unsettled period, with rain for many places, either in the form of showers and more persistent rain, although a few brighter spells are possible, Temps 7-9 over Scotland, 8-10 over England and Wales.
