Report for Friday as I missed the Friday thread

A cold and rainy start followed by a partly cloudy and dry day. Later on some heavy snow showers passed over with the last of these giving a dusting on cars, grass and roofs. Tonight has seen skies totally clear and temperatures drop below freezing with a hard frost. With northerly winds today reaching almost gale force at times it has felt very cold indeed, colder in fact than the late-Feb easterly did. Very interesting weather for April! The current cold snap has taken its toll on the average temperature aswell, dropping some 0.7°C today but still well above the 1971-2000 average.
