LOL Paul, make that 3 or 4, plus a tornado! Seriously. Dave Edwolt who I met last year comes from OK. He has been using this system and rates it bigtime. He has caught so many tornadoes with it! It will basically show you were the meso's are, the warnings, storm vector, speed, hail size, cloud heights, radial velocity and show you which towns are in the path of eacdh storm and what time the storm will arrive in each of those towns! Totally superb.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa, hold the phone!!!

Is sort of software/hardware available for the UK as well Matt? Say you were driving around Norfolk with that in the back seat of the car would it be working then? Or is there no such software/hardware for Britain?

A very important, need to know basis! Hence the "whoa's"

Sorry guys NOTHING like this exists in the UK to my knowledge. You could get AVBrief via mobile connection on a laptop I guess but that's about it - roads do not show up on AV either.

I have also attached a picture of the chase equipment I am bringing this year - this is in addition to two laptops!

To the left you will see the inverter and cable ties -an absolute must! In the case you have a strike alert detector, speed radar detector, chargers for two still digital cameras, card reader, wifi card, NWS Weather Radio, DV Video Camera and Stamina battery - lasts about 9 hours, cables, Delorme Eartmate GPS unit, mobile data cables, Kestral 4000 weather station and a USA mobile phone.

To the right of the case you have the WX Worx Satellite Radar system, receiver, datra receiver, cables, chargers, software, mapping/ holus gps unit and a bag full of cables, cables and just a couple more cables.

So there you have it, our arsenal!

    • Exceptional warmth for western Europe as October begins

There'll be exceptionally warm temperatures for the time of year affecting much of western Europe during the coming days, but that warmth will only graze the UK for now. Next weekend may see a more direct hit with the potential for southerly winds to draw some of that heat north and take temperatures into the mid or high-twenties. Read the full update here
