The day began with clear intervals and showers, and there was a heavy one with thunder around 7:30am. The rest of the morning was dull, the sort of weather where it 'looks' like thunder but doesn't actually develop into anything (in the meantime there were storms rumbling up the Irish Sea, so maybe there was a good reason for that!)

The afternoon has been warm and dry with sunny spells.

Good evening:

well after an interesting night where we had the best night time storm for some years (fork lightening and electric storm) its been a blinding day today.

this morning started a bit grey due to the overhang of the overnight storms but turned into a warm sunny day with un interupted sunshine and temps at 24oC, light winds and 10% cloud cover. i think we maybe in for a repeat of last night as we are expecting more storms tonight with the morning overcast then sunshine by lunch, temps for tomorrow expected to be around 22oC. not bad for may.

An interesting day, at 22.0°C it was the warmest maximum since September 9th 2004. Strangely it didnt actually feel that warm though, in fact you could be forgiven for thinking it was more like 12°C with a south-westerly breeze making it feel cool. Although bright, there wasnt any real sunshine today with skies only clearing once the sun had gone down. It remained muggy and attempted to rain earlier but it didnt even wet the ground. The mild conditions today also ensure my May average starts at a whopping +4.1°C above average.

Current Temp: 12.6°C

Max Temp: 22.0°C (at 16:03)

Min Temp: 8.7°C (at 05:59)

Humidity: 83%

Pressure: 1006.8hPa (Rising)

Dewpoint: 9.7°C

Wind: SW (2mph)

My May average currently stands at 15.4°C (+4.1°C Above the 1971-2000 average).

Fog overnight, then 09.30 ~ 3 or 4 rumbles of thunder a few miles away (and tinkles of the telephone ringer), with torrential rain.

Dried up mid morning but dull and foggy apart from a short clearing in mid afternoon with a little sunshine. light breeze (southwest-ish) and mild.
