;) Agreed it's so annoying when the person reporting does not have their location in their avatar!

Wasn't expecting this today. Had some hefty showers most of the afternoon and in the last 5 minutes there has been two huge thunder cracks, didn't see any lightning though.

4 mini thunder and lightning spells today- but they last only between 5 minutes and 30 minutes each before being replaced by glorious sun before another one came along. Thunder was quite loud too actually and it went really, really dark with big, black/greay clouds and moderate to heavy rain.

Rain easing up now, only sporadic rumbles of thunder....seems to be heading south.Looking out over the Humber area, clearing skies.

Report from 12.45 today, on A453, between M1 and Nottingham.

A massive flash of lightening, and even larger clap of thunder. Quite unexpected, and required a spare pair of pants ;)

I thought I heard some thunder earlier this morning (around 9.00am) there was no lightening, but it was also in the distance.

I didnt think anything of it at the time, as I didnt think storms had been forcast. Now, having read the threads on here, clearly they were....

Several heavy showers here during the course of the afternoon with hail and thunder thrown in. At least five different thunder cells passed through or near by.

4 thunderstorms have passed over here today, 3 of them had lightning and very loud thunder, 2 of them had heavy hail of around 5mm in diameter.

Interestingly in the first of the showers the temperature dropped from 14.2°C to 8.8°C and the humidity shot up from 46% to 69% in the space of less than 20 minutes.
