Ok so what are our thoughts for today. Lot's to think about. We could go way North to Illinois where decent instability is progged however, in our current location, the best LI of -6 to -8, best CAPE, trigger in the form of a cold front and high temps all seem to make us think we should stay here. In addition there is a chance of tornadic supercells in E TX - if things can get going but that would mean a long drive tonight to get in position - ah the storm chasers life!

We have made a decision. A nice easy jolt North to Joplin, MS. We will find wifi access on arrival and refine our decision.

:) Hope you get some action Chaser/Paul. Well, you'll get action of some sort I'm sure but I hope tornadic!

I do hope the best (worst ;) ) action isn't near your base where you could have stayed B)

Looking forward to some more photos, any chance of lightning pics?

Awoke at 8am and looking at data whilst sitting in the Super 8 Motel. Big decisions to be made as we know Tuesday action should kick off over Nebraska. There could be some action over North East Oklahoma and North West Arkansaw so we have decided to head their and hope the Cap gets broken, temps should hit the low 80's. Travelled North on Highway 69 (Very Picturesque) towards target area. Took Highway 142 to Arkansaw/Oklahoma border but nothing is happening so it's looking like a bust. Temps are now very healthy at 82f. Ended up in Joplin (Missouri) and the day ended in a bust. Whilst travelling to Joplin in readiness for tomorrows 350 mile slog North West we watched a cell develop 430 miles to our South West on the Baron's system over South Texas and was suitably gutted from looking at the radar, but if we had gone to this area we would have had a 750+ drive today so not possible unless we get a flight :):)

Anyhow today (10th) looks very good and our target area will probably be Omaha (Nebraska) with Capes around 4300 Supercells are very likely if all goes to plan.

    Regards

    Paul Sherman
