Initial target for today is Omaha, NE. We will crunch more data on arrival and take it from there. A good chance of long lived discreet supercells with a 5% chance of tornadoes. Will try and update later. Fingers crossed for today.

MD now issued for this area with WW soon to follow - can see the first signs of a cu line to our N and W - just met a few more chasers just waiting for things to pop. Local soundings also suggest cap has become weak ! About 90f here now too - phew!

BUST!!! :(:(

Get this. We started in Salina, KS this morning after 3 down days. We drove 200 miles north to our target location Lincoln, NE - well within the zone of high instability. Anyway around 5 or 6pm, storms start firing West of Salina!!!!!

We wait to see how they develop and see further cells with tops of 60/65K ft further West of Salina and decide to head back South. We get to Salina and to add insult to injury, the storms just died! We then try and get accom for the night and 6 out of 6 hotels we tried had no vacancy. We had to drive all the way to Wichita which is where we are now to get accom!

Whole team feeling pretty fed up right now but tomorrow is another day.

Sorry to hear that, 3 days in a row now :( . Didn't the storms produce any good lightning shows??? atleast that would be a consolation!!!

Had quite a few storms knocking around the UK yesterday afternoon / early evening, took quite a few snaps with my camera phone at a res of 640x480, got 2 nice one's. 1 gust front and what appears to be the start of a funnel cloud at the rear end of the storm, I was watching it and definately noted rotation :(

Well better luck today guys, go get a F-5 on video for us all to drool over in amazement

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Chins up guys, tomorrow is certainly another day.

Still plenty of instability here and maybe for the next few days so we may see something to remind us of how piddly our offerings are when compared to yours over there!

(Thanks for the 'Wichita line' man, :(:( )

Here's truely hoping you catch the most amazing tornado's in a 24hr period to make up for the 3 days loss!!!!!

Sorry to be offtopic, SnowJoke, Weird you should say that i had some lovely stormy looking clouds around 5-6am this morning - i thought rotation was happening but put it down to lack of sleep :p (Espcially being so early in the morning conditions wouldnt be right surely)
