Unbelieveable it seems there are thunderstorms all around and yet I have blue sky with clouds. sky is looking grey out to the west and the clouds are definately gaining hieght. If i didn't know better I'd say it's missing us on purpose :-(

The rain had eased off here in the last ten minutes, but it's just started again, quite heavily. and the thunder and lightning has got a bit more intense. but not as much as before, at the height of the storm.

Thunderstorms have arrived in Lancaster. The first two rumbles of the day were only 30 seconds apart- it'll be interesting to see what comes of this!

Looks like it could be it for today so to sum up. Good convective development in the afternoon followed by a brief storm, after the sun re-appearing and providing more heat a longer storm cropped up.

Been very dark for 2 hours now but only heard faint rumbles to the north of sheffield.

Radar and lightning detector shows massive activity is imminant.

Top temp today reached the magical 30oc!!!!

Any chance of storms in Northern Ireland today/tonight? Last night we had spectacular light show and the power went off for about 2 hours.

Thunder off and on since about 4pm and the next storm's rumbling away at the moment, looks like it might be a big one.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I hope you get some of what we are having :D

OMG how heavy is the rain, we have had half an hour of constant downpour, monsoon like rain B) Garden has standing water almost everywhere

Flashes of lightening and thunder almost straight away. There is a flash at least every 5 seconds, less than that most of the time.

Lights going on and off (on laptop) and connection keeps going.

Signing off until this eases B)
