hi

I just wondered if anyone managed to break any temperatures records!

For me I got 32.0C, backed up by second thermometer in even more sheltered area of the garden. The only other temperatures of over 31C I've recorded are:-

31.7C on 19 June 2000

31.3C on 11 August 1997

31.2C on 2 August 1999

so the highest for me in 8 years recording for June.

The highest ever recorded in June in this area is 32,8C at RAF Finningley on 3 June 1947. That year ring any bells for record heat and a scorching summer?

regards

John

John

John.

In reply to your post here in Newhall yesterday I hit a top temperature of 32.1c this was backed up by two thermometers. Where we are situated in Newhall we get some very strange weather readings both Temperature and pressure wise.

I think it is the fact that where I am is like being in the bottom of a horse shoe.

Surrounded by hills on three sides with an opening to the SW. Well thats my theory ans I'm sticking to it.

This is my 3rd June of recording temps.

31c yesterday is the highest of any day in these years.

2003 highest = 27c twice

2004 highest = 30c once

Not too far away from Mr Karlson in Cleveland I recorded a pretty reliable maximum of 26.6ºC.

Thats my hottest June day, although I only have last year for comparison, so not much to beat.

I hit 29C on Sunday at 11am before temps declined - think thats a new record early time for June and possibly July...

Yesterday's 29.5°C temperature is the highest maximum I have ever recorded in June, beating the previous 27.0°C by some margin.

Maximum of 27.4c here yesterday equalled the June maximum in 1995 which in turn was the highest since 1976. It's only the 3rd June in the last 28 years to reach 26.7c (80f).

Lancaster only managed a high of 25C, the highest June reading in the area since 2000 (when the temperature reached 28.4C on the 18th)

19 June 2005 would also appear to have been Durham's warmest June day since 2000.

John

Looking at past reading there was nothing to equal this years temperature.

we have now settled down to boring old 26c to 28c.

Here are the readings for the past three years

2002 26.3

2003 29.1

2004 29.1.

The way things are going over the past year or so I think every weather record willhave been broken, other than a record snow fall.

Kindest Regards

Paul
