Big storm here overnight, frequent thunder and heavy rain

Report form my other half in Reading suggests storm breaking out in Reading, Berkshire. Thunder with lightning reported.

Can confirm that Matt. 11:45 Storm tracked NW from Tilehurst/Caversham direction I would think. Quiet now.

Storm now in Slough. Perking up and thunder starting to make itself known.

Some more thunder heard, after a sunny break of about 2hrs. Looks like another storm is heading this way.

The one this morning was spectacular, on the way to work was scary on the motorway, could barely see in front of you, lightning going of all around me

Storm 7 moved towards Devizes over Salisbury Plain by 11.45.

Then just before midday storm 8 developed overhead with 2 booming thundercracks and large raindrops from a small weird shaped cb which could be seen beneath a brighter area of sky . Storm 8 is now rumbling constantly over the hills and has been for 1/2 an hour.

Storm 9 now booming about 5 miles away SW of me

Still getting regular flashes and rumbles here in Swindon.It's been going for a few hours now, as i seem to be in the middle of the area affected ...........as i typed had a huge flash/rumble!

Lots of deep booms thunder now getting closer, steady rain - looks like it'll be a good one Some great convection with high Tcu's in the last hour.

Just had the most amazing T storm. The cloud was 'black' and looked as if it was 'bubbling'. The lightning came thick and fast with torrential rain. Very scarey - thought it could have turned really nasty - the children in the local primary school are screaming at every flaDoh a dumb swear filter got the better of me!!!!! Storm is now moving north Eastwards I think!

my storm has now passed, and its almost clear blue skies again (although thankfully we now have a cool breeze) Hopefully the fact its sunny again means more storms will develope later

Been woken up now by Thunder. Also got woke up at some point in the morning but was so tired I just went back to sleep. Thats 4 storms that I know of

Just started chucking it down here - no thunder, no lightening - rain is coming down vertical. Is this it?

Just been filming a storm here at 1340 had the most amazing instant flash/crack, very very close to me! As i'm filming i literally jumped.Car alarms went off and so did the phones and internet.........cool.

Report on Storm 9 !!!!

This approached from the SW with high gusty NW winds and a gust front with a few CGs seen below it about 2 miles away . Heard another loud bomb like crack

As the gust front cleared the rain pelted down and the wind died.

Regular thunder and some visible lightning (lots of low scud though) from 13.00 - 13.45.

As it began to clear mammatus was visible and the wind gusted strongly from the SE.

Clearing ENE now and bright sunshine for the 1st time today

Overall rainfall total today of 38mm!!!!

First crack of thunder just heard - not seen any lightning. Still chucking down stairrods. Seems to be brightening slightly. Wind still non-existent.

Edit - 14.27 - well that's that - all gone now - brighter, no rain.

one lightrnenings and large clipperty clops of thunder is cames crashings down on lootons at 1pmish. rained heavys with maseev rain dropsies! brighter and sunniers nows

We had a small storm pass over at around 11:45am it only lasted 20 mins, there was very heavy rain, but only 7-8 flashes of lightning and some thunder. Nothing special really.

cloddy with yuky purply yellow clods and booms and ceracks of thunders is audibals!!! the me is scareds! the me is was looking forward to hot sunny weathers in lootons todays!!!!!
