Can't vouch for any thunder but we have just had a drenching and the temperature is now a lovely 21.6º down from 28.4º just 40 minutes ago.

Gorgeous!

EDIT: - I think the short power-cut we just had shows there is lightning about.

This report is from an area about 8 miles NW of Newcastle. At about 12-15 pm I was on the golf course and thunder could be heard to the WNW, this continued for some time but no lightning was observed, the large CuNim gradually moved towards us with continued distant thunder, about 3-45 pm the heavens opened and we had torrential rain for about 30 minutes-we all decided to repair to the clubhouse and on arrival the sun returned.

There looks a beefy clump of showers on the radar, they appear to be heading for South Yorkshire.

The lightning detector at 19-20, is showing lightning occuring around the london area. My observation, around 15 minutes ago is saying that it is TOTALLY CLOUDLESS!!!!!!! in the western slice of london (Not even Fair Weather Cumulus) can be seen.

Thunder heard to the north and north west of here between 1915 and 2000, it appeared to be moving this way but we got no more than a few spots of rain around 2045.
