The Worst Gales You've Ever Seen

Well the worst Gales i been was when i was walking out side and the wind was that strong that i was so close from been blowen off my feet

We frequently get severe Gales here (Nearest weather station is Mumbles, which frequently is the windiest place in the UK)

and several times I have thought the windows were going to get blown in.

Christmas Eve 1997 in Liverpool was very windy and really scary. (Especially as I was due to have Eldest Little Lord any day and Lord P was out on a works Christmas do... bless him!)

There was also a bad gale in Glasgow in 1980 (???) that blew a tree down on my Grandfather's car.

The 87 storm, we got sent home from school when the roof flew off the barbers over the road

Can't remember the exact date. I think it was either the 1st or 2nd Jan 1976. Very strong winds for this area

the storm of 1987, closely followed by some gale force winds in Feb '90 (I think) it was the only time we were sent home during secondary school - and the walk home was very scary!

I'll never forget 27th October 2002, it was IMO just a notch above the other gales here!
