Heaviest Downpour Since Noah!

No, not snow, but 9 inches of rain reportedly fell in 20 minutes! So said the meteorologist on TV 10, based on radar and vessels full of water. It was about 25 or 30 years ago, south of the Whitetank Mountains, 30 miles west of Phoenix, Arizona, USA. I drove past it a week later, on Interstate Highway 10. Every saguaro cactus was knocked over flat; every paloverde tree was torn to shreds. A 7-year-old jojoba bean plantation, just ready for first harvest, was completely destroyed.
