I've just ordered a 200L water butt, complete with child-safe lid, stand, tap, connector kit and algae-prevention stuff.....all for £35! I phone North-West Water and they subsidise the cost through a thrid-party firm, and I think all water companies do this. Phone them and check.....normal price for all that would be pushing £100.

Well spotted OON. Just checked and Severn Trent doing a similar thing on a 41 Gal Butt with all the accessories for £29.95 inc delv. (RRP 65.80) and 330Ltr home composters for just £5! (RRP 39.95)

Nice one OON! Makes sense for water authorities to promote conservation, and for the customer too, especially if on water metering.

Does anyone know whether this is a country wide thing?

In the past a got mine from my uncle who was a cooper, but sadly he passed away last year. So I am on the look out for one at the best price of course :D
