Some very Bright echoes are appearing in the South East at present, these may turn thundery, but the chances for Sunday look a lot better so post your Storm Reports if any for 24th July.

Travelled up the M40 in this lot, the sky ahead was very menacing, there looked to be a conical shaft, but probably just rain, it got darker and darker by the second then we met torrential rain and spray.

(I gather the motorcycle racing was hit something similar)

The picture doesn't really do justice to the conditions, it was too dark to show the worst of it, speeds dropped to about 40mph at times !, it was similar up through the M6 spaghetti junction area.

Thunderstorm here yesterday, approached from south west

- Hard to tell as low cloud sheet was heading west - High cloud was moving east.

- Also storms all evening no lightning though just VERY heavy rain.
