Weather type: Heavy rain and Thunderstorms

Affecting: England, Wales, southern Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland.

Time and Date Valid For: 0300 Wednesday 27 July to 0900 Thursday 28 July 2005

Time of Issue: 22:00 on Monday 25 July 2005

Heavy rain with isolated embedded thunderstorms will continue to move north during this evening and into the night. Areas affected from about Manchester to the Humber northwards. Rainfall totals of 25-35mm are possible in places with the possibility of even higher totals in a few spots due to high ground effects. Some isolated instances of local flooding are possible.

Further south scattered thunderstorms or heavy showers will slowly die away later this evening.

A New alert may be issued on Friday morning if the situation warrants it.
