Sunny, but rather cool at only 10C and humidity at 85%.

There is barely any noticable wind direction and i am annoyed that this so-called 'mini heatwave' is stubbornly sticking in the south. I booked my holiday on Wednesday on the north-east coast expecting it to be at least 25C there and its only going to be 20C. Bloody typical!

A beautiful day so far with clear skies after some early-morning fog until 7.30. The temperature has just touched 22C!

PersianPaladin - you shouldn't worry about a 5 degree difference in temperature. When I was in Lanzarote, we went to the beach late-morning and within two hours it clouded over and felt cold. According to the BBC, the east and northeast looks like a thunderstorm magnet for Thursday.

The remnants of an old weather front in the form of patchy high cloud has moved north to Durham...blocking the sun for about an hour, but it is has now burned off completely and died...and the sun has come out.

Current temperature has now shot up in the sunshine to the dizzy heights of 18C!!!

Lol. Mike, i really wish that where i live had any thunderstorms at all. We've only had 2 the whole year where i live. Whereas 12 miles to my south-east in the southern reaches of the County - much more thundery activity has been reported, to the level of 9 instances!!! Unbelievable!
