Excellent stuff!, I would have been interesting to see what happened in the summer - Narsarssuaq and Nuuk would really look like they had continental climates. its dipping right now now though, won't be long til it's minus double figures

Hi Iztok, Summit is a research centre right in the interior of the ice pack which means that there is no sea to warm it up like coastal greeland, Nuuk and Narsaq for example are still around freezing) Also its at about 3000ASL (not quite sure about that tho )

As for last winter in greenland im pretty sure it was cold although I think overall it was above average but what I do know is that this September for Summit is 3c colder than last September.

Evening Mike, thanks for the kind words. The temperatures certaintly dropped up there over the last few days but seems to have warmed up in the last 12-24 hours. I was thinking about asking you for the 62' temperatures for Greenland but we have already been there havn't we if you remember last year on the beeb board :lol:

Hi Nick, the temperatures I posted on the late lamented snowwatch were for the winter itsself,I have to hand the weather charts for both September and October '62 and will see what stations are included and post some of them in the next few days on this thread.

Evening Nick, I have been looking at those charts and the only places shown in Greenland and they appear to be coastal stations are ---- Fredricksheb,Egedesminde, Upernavik,Nord, Daneborg, Cap Yobin, Angmagssalik ,Narssarssuak and Aputiteq. I only have the mid-day temperatures for these sites so they may not be a lot of good--let me know as I have no objection at all of adding them daily to your figures.
