I agree with you. The BBC said a cloudy start would give way to plentiful autumn sunshine. It was a cloudy start alright but no sun has made an appearance. At least it isn't overly cold with a high earlier of 18C.

People talking about the cloud when sunshine was forecast: it's anticyclonic gloom, very often the case in the UK when weak fronts move through HIGH pressure. There's been a weak warm front around today and it's dragged all this medium level stratus in from the Atlantic. There's barely any wind to blow the cloud around either.
