Rain started at around about 3.50pm and continued until 7.10pm...

Had heavy rainfall for about half an hour before the rain-band cleared with a few rumbles of thunder.... :p:(

Very rare for these parts...

Otherwise, clear and starry with hardly a breath of wind. Trees still dripping.

Cold, 8 c.

Rain has now stopped. Really dissapointed that we only received 2mm from the rain. I seem to live in a part of Essex that literally receives 205 of the national average. Its sounds rediculous, but it looks like I need to water the garden tomorrow, as the Cannas, fushias and Musa Basjoo will thrve up untill our very first frosts.

Report for Wednesday 28th September 2005, Readings taken at 23:55.

A cool and clear start which saw plenty of sunshine gave way to cloudier conditions as the day went on. By late-afternoon it had become totally overcast, with rain arriving in the evening. The last few hours have seen clearing skies and a sharp drop in temperature, though the strong westerly wind present all day has yet to subside. It was once again a cool day, just below average for the time of year. It felt cold at times in the strong wind, but pleasant in the early sunshine.

Current Temp: 10.4°C

Max Temp: 17.0°C (at 14:00)

Min Temp: 7.6°C (at 07:16)

Humidity: 85%

Min Humidity: 53% (at 13:59)

Pressure: 1007.4hPa (Rising)

Dewpoint: 7.9°C

Wind: WNW (7mph)

Rain Today: 4.1mm

My September average currently stands at 15.9°C (+1.8°C Above the 1971-2000 average).

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
