Summer returns :) .

After early misty low cloud it's been sunny all the way :) , only hazier now as the sun sets into some cirrus / altocumulus.

Quite a brisk, but very warm S breeze at times. **Max 21c, 17c now.

** The highest October temp in the 3 years I've been recording temps. 2003 highest was 18c, 2004 highest was 17c.

Beautiful sunny day today. Fog gave way to sunshine all day and a warm S-SW breeze blowing erratically. It is now cloudy, dry and muggy and the sky has turned thundery-looking to the southwest. Thunderstorms? I'm not fussed - it reached 21C today in Bristol. As Andy Bown says, it was warm with 21.5C on October 11th 2001 but the warmest in the last decade was 23C in 1990.

It was also extremely warm for the time of year and the latest date Ive ever recorded a maxima above 20°C, the previous record was 2nd October 2002.

Current Temp: 14.1°C

Max Temp: 20.9°C (at 14:42)

Min Temp: 8.8°C (at 05:41)

Min Humidity: 68% (at 17:45)

Pressure: 1009.1hPa (Falling)

Dewpoint: 11.7°C

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
