Just want to report a DRAMATIC temperature drop here in Durham.

At 2.20pm the air outside was warm and muggy at 17C with high humidity.

10 minutes later the temperature had dropped by 4 DEGREES to 13C.

That feels surreal. Just one change in the wind direction and woosh - down goes the thermometer. I have a headache now.

I have almost slipped on the leaves in surprise this evening. For the 3rd day in a row the temp has hit 20c +. Today's max was 20c despite only a little sunshine.

Now cloudy, humid and showery. Breezy from the SW and 16c.

Kenfig Hill, Bridgend, South Wales:

View is clear from here right the way accross Swansea Bay to the west, and to the south-east I can see one or two lights over the Bristol Channel - No rain at the moment.

Nearly 8/8 cloud cover. Mainly cumulostratus visible (I think - It's the tail end of dusk atm!). Broken patches showing three cloud layers (pretty!).

Looks like the back side of that front has pretty much passed us. Still expecting a final sting in the tail though

Dull but mostly free of rain a.m. Started to rain off an on by noon. Absolutely threw it down between 2 and 3 pm with over 12mm recorded. Short intervals then one heck of a downpour when driving up the A370 Long Ashton Bypass. Had a spell of persistent rain that has recently stopped. Temperature got up to 17C at 2pm before the downpour but now cooler and fresher at 13C.

The day started off cold, and wet here. All morning it stayed cold with drizzly rain, temp staying at about 8c. Then in the afternoon the rain stopped and we even got a few bright spells. Tonight a few clear spells are starting to develop and it look like it gona be a chilly night
