A good few showers have come thru today...most of the time we have been on the edge of the showers, with a few coming directly overhead. Mostly light to moderate falls of convective rain, but with the occasional violent squall and heavy burst.

In one word: Squally.

The showers over Wales at 3pm, passed to our north and missed us at 5pm. So a mainly dry day, with good sunshine and fairly clear right now.

After an unsettled and wet night the morning started off mostly cloudy with occasional sunny spells. As the day went on these became more prolonged and the afternoon saw some pleasant sunshine. The early evening saw the arrival of heavier showers, accompanied by a strengthing of the wind with gale force gusts at times. It was a cool day overall, with the maxima actually reached last night near to 4am. During daylight it didnt climb higher than 13.9°C, but it felt relatively mild despite the wind.
