Been lovely and sunny here all day. Temperature has rocketed to 21C and still rising by looks of it. Clear blue skies but Wales is under cloud again. I visited the Mountain Hay Bluff this morning and it was cold, shut in, drizzly and 13C but as soon as we drove back home because of that, we were driving through Newport under clear skies. Must be the mountains affect.

I expected a dull damp day today until seeing Mr Data's post this morning about an analogy with 8 October 1995.

A very good analogy indeed as far as Leeds is concerned: sunny all day, a moderate southerly breeze, and it must have been close to 20C. Not what I was expecting at all!

I was in Newcastle - Under -Lyme until 3pm. There had been a shower overnight and some residual cloud this morning, but it was mainly sunny from 11am.

I notice that the BBC forecasts last night did highlight some cloud cover over NE Wales/Shrops area particularly.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Didn't begin to clear till about 1.30 here.

Didn't see those forecasts- was it the TV ones and what did they say? All the Net and paper ones I've seen for today had bright sun all day and max 20-21C.
