7.5mm of rain and a min of 14c :whistling: last night.

This morning started dry but was quickly very wet and windy with some torrential squalls of rain. 12mm in a few hours.

Since about 11.00 it's been dry and brighter, some sunny spells, lighter breeze this afternoon. Max 16c, 15c now.

Well, seems that we've missed the rain here in Colchester. It clouded over for a while but blue skies are appearing again to the West.

Currently partly cloudy with altocumulus/altostratus - windy and very mild.

I don't know much about clouds but going over me from the south-west seems to be mammatus,I'm probably wrong but it is bright orange in colour.There seems to be alot of very dark clouds to the east of it and also following in from behind.

You're right - that was Mammatus. I photographed it and it was absolutely gorgeous. The sun was setting at the time. I took the photo from Long Ashton so Tim should have seen it if looking.

Current conditions are clear overhead but towering clouds to the west. Don't think it will rain though. Temperature is now 14C after a high of 15C.

Report for Sunday 30th October 2005, Readings taken at 23:10.

After a bright morning cloud built into the early afternoon giving some very heavy showers. These lasted for around an hour or so until it dried up again but remained cloudy. It was another exceptionally mild day for the time of year, but a keen southerly wind took the edge off a little.
